DPS Seeks Info on Person of Interest in Relation to Murder

LUBBOCK – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is looking for a person-of-interest in the murder of Omar Alejandro Diaz. The DPS Texas Rangers Division was contacted by the Snyder Police Department on March 22, 2014, to assist with the investigation.

Diaz was found dead at his residence in Snyder and was last seen with his girlfriend on March 14 in Lorenzo, Texas. The girlfriend possibly goes by Casandra, Cassie or Cassidy Lopez and is approximately 21 years old.  Lopez has a tattoo of “Respect” on her upper chest. The tattoo reads “Loyalty” when looked at upside down.

Also missing from Diaz’s residence, is his red 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT. The Pontiac was displaying Texas registration BJN4874 and has a mural of a kneeling angel on the back window.

The Texas Rangers are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lopez or the Grand Am to contact them at 806-637-3713 or the Snyder Police Department at 325-573-2611
