Lowe's Closes All Stores For Easter Sunday

SAN ANGELO, TX—Lowe’s announced they will be closing all stores on Easter Sunday to provide employees with a much-deserved day off during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Our ability to support communities with essential goods and services during this pandemic is thanks to our outstanding, dedicated associates,” said Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s president, and CEO. “We want to provide our teams with a much-deserved day off to spend Easter Sunday with their families and loved ones and recharge.”

According to CBS7, the store pledged to ensure hourly associates lose scheduled hours or reduced pay due to the closing. The store also acknowledged the effort and dedication their employees put into making sure customers can have access to the items they need while staying safe inside the store.

“I want to personally thank our 300,000 associates who have helped families stay safely at home,” said Ellison. “Their actions are nothing short of heroic.”

A few days ago the retailer announced they would be providing a $2 per hour raise for all employees through the month of April.

“We continue to listen to our associates’ and customers’ feedback and make necessary adjustments to help keep everyone in our stores safe during this unprecedented time,” said Ellison.
