City Crews Working on Major Water Main Break

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo city water crews are working to repair a broken water main near 18th St. and Main St.

According to Public Information Officer Brian Groves,  water distribution crews are currently working to repair a 20-inch water main near 18th and Main Street.

The line was damaged by another utility contractor.

Crews are working to isolate the break and this may effect customers in the surrounding area.

The city will provide updates as work continues.

UPDATE: Sunday Feb. 23 2 p.m.

City Crews were able to isolate the area while maintaining water service to customers. Water is being diverted/rerouted around the repair.

The line is a concrete steel cylinder and will require welding repairs.

The crews are also working on leaks in other areas of the town, but will make the necessary repairs to the 20-inch line tomorrow.
