NWS: Snow in the Concho Valley With Temps Below Freezing Through Thursday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Concho Valley all day Wednesday as snow continues to fall in San Angelo.  

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, sleet and snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected in the Concho Valley and northern Heartland including Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Coleman, and Brown counties from this morning through this afternoon.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Wintry precipitation will continue across much of West Central Texas through this afternoon. Hazardous driving conditions can be expected, with much of the area remaining at or below freezing today through Thursday afternoon. 

Watch it snow: 

Bridges and overpasses are slick and the additional precipitation and sub-freezing temperatures will make matters worse as the day goes on. 

The forecast calls for snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 9am. High near 32. Wind chill values between 11 and 21. North northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

This is a developing weather situation.  

Residents are advised to stay off streets and roadways if at all possible.
