WATCH: Thousands Give Thanks at H-E-B Feast of Sharing

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Thousands of area residents flocked to the First Financial Pavilion at the San Angelo fairgrounds Sunday for a free turkey and dressing meal with all the trimmings. 

H-E-B sponsored the popular event for the 23rd time in San Angelo. 

Hundreds of volunteers serve everyone who attends in what has become organized chaos.

Volunteers fed approximately 6,000 turkey and dressing meals between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. 

The H-E-B pharmacy was also on hand and administered some 400 free flu shots.  

There was live music, a dance floor, a children's area and information booths.  The kids also enjoyed free snow cones. 

The H-E-B corporation holds feast of sharing events in 24 cities in Texas and several more in New Mexico. 

H-E-B has 18-wheel trucks which have self contained kitchens where the food in prepared and cooked fresh at each event.
