San. Angelo City Council Poised to Purchase 44 New Vehicles

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo city council members are set to approved purchasing 44 new vehicles from Jim Bass Ford during their regular meeting Tuesday.  

According to information from city staff on the agenda for Tuesday, the council will consider awarding a bid for 12 Patrol Utility Vehicles for the San Angelo Police Department in the amount of $527,445 to Jim Bass Ford.  Two vendors bid on the patrol vehicles; Jim Bass Ford and Four Stars Ford from Jacksboro, TX.  The bid includes the option to purchase 3 additional patrol vehicles as needed. 

Also on Tuesday, council members will consider awarding Jim Bass Ford a bid in the amount of $704,000 for 18 half ton pickups with the option to purchase 4 additional units. 

The Agenda also has the council awarding a bid for 14 medium pickups to Jim Bass Ford in the amount of $527,000 with the option to purchase and additional 3 units as needed. 

The total amount of the three bids for 44 vehicles is $1.7 million.  

In other business, the city council will consider issuing $56 million in 2019 water and sewer revenue bonds for expansion of the Hickory well field.  

The San Angelo City Council meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in council chambers at the McNease Convention Center.
