Meet the New Director at the San Angelo Performing Arts Center

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Performing Arts Center (SAPAC) officially welcomed Berkeley Puckitt as the new executive director this month.

As executive director, Puckitt will continue to develop SAPAC’s comprehensive strategic plan, which includes fundraising, communications, strategic partnerships, and educational programs. In this role she will leverage the talent and enthusiasm of the San Angelo arts community to educate and promote cultural opportunities for all.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Berkeley join us as the new executive director of SAPAC,” Kendal Jastrow, SAPAC chairperson said. “Berkeley is widely respected for her non-profit experience, and she brings talents and knowledge that fit right in with SAPAC’s mission to encourage quality and diverse programming and educational opportunities to enrich the arts in San Angelo.”

Prior to joining SAPAC, Puckitt served as the director of community outreach for the Laura W Bush Institute for Women’s Health. During the last seven years she oversaw all activities of the institute, including outreach programs, research projects, fundraising, professional education and monitored the utilization of human and financial resources. In addition, she served as the spokesperson for the institute through television, radio, newspaper and social media outlets.

Puckitt has lived in San Angelo for seven years and has intertwined herself in the community. She is a Leadership San Angelo alumnus, a 2014 20 Under 40 recipient, past president of the Junior League of San Angelo, an active member of First Presbyterian Church and has been recently named a 2019 Texas Woman to Watch recipient by Elenora Magazine.

Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Puckitt graduated from Texas Tech University and worked in advertising and marketing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area before moving to San Angelo. She brings years of experience in advertising, marketing, fundraising and event planning to SAPAC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Casey, and their two children, Sadie and Jones.

“I love San Angelo. This is a place that is home and I am excited to contribute to SAPAC’s core purpose of enriching the lives of people who live in our community.” Puckitt said. “I’m thrilled to be a part of San Angelo’s vibrant arts community to foster an essential hub for creating and experiencing live performance.”
