Christoval Independence Day Celebration Adds Bicycle Race

 

CHRISTOVAL, TX -- The annual Christoval Volunteer Fire Department Independence Day celebration will include a 30 mile bike ride this year in addition to the Firecracker 5K and one mile fun run and walk. 

According to information from the Christoval VFD, the annual 4th of July celebration gets under way at 9 a.m. next Thursday in Christoval Park downtown. 

Registration is available online at www.christovalfire.com and from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on race day.  

Registration for the bike ride and the run is $25 early and $35 on race day.  

The bike ride starts at 8:30 a.m. and the route is an out and back ride down Toenail Trail.

The 5K and one mile fun run starts at 9 a.m.

The annual Independence Day celebration includes a BBQ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Center on Main St. 

BBQ plates are $10 each and organizers say kids will be able to tour the fire trucks.
