San Angelo's Railway Museum Getting Back on Track

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Railway Museum of San Angelo is undergoing major changes in its leadership and mission with a new board of directors and logo.

Last week, the museum announced their Board of Directors, to be effective November 2019. They are: Penny Baker; President, Bliss Bignall; Secretary, Carolyn Craven; Treasurer, Rodger Horton, Lane Horwood, Charles Endress, Suzanna Aguirre.

The museum will have a new face with a logo that the new board will usher the San Angelo attraction into the future. The logo visually represents the mission to create a connection from our city's past to the present and future.

The museum procured a building permit from the City of San Angelo to begin construction of a gift shop. The gift shop will be located in the main entrance of the old Santa Fe Depot to provide guests the opportunity to shop for railroad memorabilia.

The museum was forced to undergo a transition over the past two years as money dried up, the lease of the museum inside the historic Santa Fe Depot at 711 S. Chadbourne St. with the City was renegotiated, and new blood came forth to make the non-profit museum and tourist attraction financially sustainable for the 21st century.
