NWS Issues Flood Warning for San Angelo and the Surrounding Area

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service office in San Angelo has issued a Flood Warning for San Angelo and the surrounding area after heavy rain has fallen Sunday morning. 

The Flash Flood Warning is for Northeastern Tom Green County until 1015 a.m. Sunday.  At 7:17 a.m.  radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in San Angelo. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen, and an additional inch is likely.

Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flooding include San Angelo, Mereta, Veribest, Wall, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, Vancourt, Lake Nasworthy, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Grape Creek and Harriet.

This includes the following low water crossings: Howard and Webster, Jackson from Knickerbocker to South Bryant, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, College Hills and Millbrook, FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, 1500 Block of Spaulding, 300 block of North Archer, Parkwood and Lindenwood and Sul Ross At Red Arroyo Crossing.
