WATCH: Wind Advisory Issued as Blowing Dust Invades San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A wind advisory has been issued beginning at noon today through 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

According to the National Weather Service Office in San Angelo, strong and gusty southerly winds will be possible on Monday afternoon and evening making travel more difficult for high profile vehicles.

Sustained at 25 to 35 MPH with gusts as high as 45 MPH are forecast.  Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines.

High profile vehicles will see more difficult driving conditions on east and west oriented roadways. Any boaters heading out on area lakes will see choppy conditions.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

The forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon with wind gusts to 45 mph.

Tonight rain chances increase to 70 percent mainly after 1 a.m with the main threats being large hail and damaging winds.
