WATCH: Back the Badge Clay Bird Shoot Draws Hundreds

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Hundreds of shooting enthusiasts competed in the Back the Badge clay bird shoot Saturday at the San Angelo Clay Bird Association range west of San Angelo. 

San Angelo Police Chief Frank Carter and Tom Green County Sheriff David Jones were at the shoot Saturday morning.  

Chief Carter says the proceeds from the event will be divided evenly between the police department and the Sheriff's office.  

There were about 230 participants who shot at clay birds launched from various stations around the course.

There was also a live auction featuring guns and grills.  Each contestant got a Back the Badge T0-shirt as well.  

Participants were also served lunch after they finished shooting. 

Chief Carter said his department would use the proceeds to purchase equipment.
