WATCH:Tossed Restaurant Grand Opening 'Ribbon' Cutting

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Chamber of Commerce joined Kevin Kent and his fellow business partners at the Grand Opening of a new salad restaurant on Knickerbocker Rd.

The Florida based restaurant "Tossed" started in Boca Raton but has quickly spread to huge Florida spots such as Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. This location is the first location in Texas, but the company has started to branch away from Florida by opening a location in Anchorage and also all the way in Abu Dhabi. "We are thrilled to be the first franchise partner in Texas and even more excited to bring this new concept to our friends, family and community members in San Angelo,” said Kevin Kent, Tossed San Angelo’s operating partner. 

Kent has come together with property manager of the shops at Stadium Park Mary Jane Steadman to bring this new "Fresh Food Fast" restaurant to Texas. "In today’s retail and entertainment environment, people are looking for more than just a transactional purchase," said Steadman. "Consumers are seeking positive experiences and personal attention." The business arrangement "just made sense" according to Steadman, and with the restaurant located on a busy Knickerbocker Rd. and across from San Angelo Stadium that is hard to argue. The process wasn't a short one either as Kent says they began working together 15 months ago, but really started focusing on getting the project done in around 6 months. 

Tossed has various items that can help anyone overcome that unhealthy eating habit. Their main entree is of course the salad. They have a Chicken Caprese, Cesar salads, Tuna salads, Greek salads, or you can make your own. "Everything is really fresh and it can be a healthy option, said Kent as he showed the Chamber the massive salad bar. "It could be healthy or if you would like you can come in get a roast beef cheddar with chips and a drink." Tossed offers not only salads but pitas, artisanal sandwiches, gourmet wraps, and also smoothies. They also offer a "Pick any two for nine bucks" which is either a half of a sandwich, a mini dyo salad or mini dyo hot bowl, or a cup of soup. If you have a sweet tooth they also offer cookie and brownie bites. 

"Come on in, enjoy it, and then go tell 10 friends about it." concluded Kent to his speech to the chamber. Everyone then joined together and to cut the grand opening ribbon. Unlike most businesses that open, Tossed had a new way to "cut the ribbon." Kent went into the kitchen, grabbed a head of lettuce, a knife, and a few serving papers. He then cut the head of lettuce as a ceremonial tribute to the uniqueness of Tossed. 

Tossed is located in the Stadium Park at 2005 Knickerbocker Rd. The restaurant will be open Monday thru Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you can not make it into the store there are still a few options on how to get Tossed. They cater, deliver, and are also working towards being apart of San Angelo To-Go. According to Kent they are also working on getting a "Tossed" app.
