National Chili Day Just in Time

SAN ANGELO, TX – National Chili Day couldn't have arrived sooner as tonight will be a cold night.

Chili is one of the most popular southwestern dishes used to help either warm people up, or fill them with a hearty meal. Chili or originally known as chili con carne is a dish with the main ingredients being chili peppers and dried beef.

The dish has a special place in Texas as chili as it became the number the official dish of Texas in 1977. Chili can be used in many different ways including by itself, on hot dogs, hamburgers, potatoes, and even the Texas original frito pie. One of the main questions though concerning chili in Texas is if you should put bean in the pot or not.

If you are not able to cook chili today, there are some local options on chili here in town. You can go to Twin Peaks for their chili or their chili con queso.
