Concho Valley PAWS Hosting Free Adoption Event Just in Time for Christmas

SAN ANGELO, TX-- Christmas is upon us and to celebrate Concho Valley PAWS is hosting a free adoption event on Saturday, Dec.15, at the San Angelo Animal Shelter located at 3125 US Highway 67 North. The Homes for the Holidays event will run from 10am-6pm. Adoptions have been underwritten Enertel and Western Shamrock Corporation.

Adoptions include spay or neuter, vaccinations, microchip, collar, personalized ID tag and leash. Adoption fees are usually $85 for dogs and $50 for cats, but because of the generous donors these fees are waived for this special event. All adopters must do is complete an application and apply to adopt.

People wishing to adopt are asked to complete the adoption application online at cvpaws.org the week prior to the event. “This will allow us to process the application and be prepared for our adopters on Saturday. This helps expedite the adoption process and helps ensure an enjoyable adoption experience without delays,” said Jenie Wilson, PAWS Executive Director.

“The main thing we look for in adopters is a responsible track record with pets. We are looking for people who are willing to make a commitment to love and care for an animal for the rest of the animal’s life.” Wilson said. “We just want to see these shelter pets find homes for the holidays!”

PAWS will also provide low cost spay and neuter vouchers for $25 to the first 75 people in line. The voucher sale will begin at 1pm at the shelter. Vouchers will be sold for cash or check and issued to people on a first come first serve basis. Only one voucher is allowed per person.

The digital photos are $10 per pet and make excellent Christmas cards! The proceeds from the photos will go towards our compassion fund, our emergency veterinary program for sick or injured animals. All leashed and vaccinated pets are welcome to come.
