Dog Breaks Record at Annual Concho Kennel Club Dog Show

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Concho Kennel Club's Annual Dog Show is going on this weekend at the Foster Communications Coliseum and you can see over 390 different dogs compete for their chance at Grand Champion.

Handlers and dogs come from all over the United States to compete in this dog show and continue to travel the country some of these handlers and dogs may even go on to Westminster in New York. 

Ates, a three-year-old Anatolian Shepherd, has made history by winning best in show and being the first of her breed to ever win this title.

She is a working dog and stays in shape by working fourteen goats back home in California.

Her handler, Mr. Rick Plaut, who has been showing dogs for more than 20 years is a third generation handler that has been with Ates since she was six months old and does over 100 shows with Ates yearly. 

Concho Kennel Club has three different shows throughout the weekend and will be hosting their last show Sunday morning from 8 a.m. to noon.

Concho Kennel Club has been hosting this dog show for over 100 years and proceeds from this weekend go to help the Concho Kennel Club.
