Fear of Gas Shortage Yields a Temporary Gas Shortage

SAN ANGELO, TX — If you have been driving down Bryant Boulevard, Sherwood Way, or Knickerbocker Road you have seen the many gas pumps that are covered by the yellow bags that say “Sorry Out of Service.”

Most of the pumps that are out of gas are at Stripes gas stations on main roads. The Stripes locations at Ave N and S. Bryant and on 29th St. and N. Bryant are expected to receive gas first, according to a Stripes employee. The earliest the locations are expected to get gas again is tonight or tomorrow morning.

“It is not a gas shortage,” said the employee at the Stripes location on Ave. N and S. Bryant. “Rumors spread quick that there was a gas shortage but it was the fear of a gas shortage that causes this shortage.”

Gas is still available at different locations around town. H.E.B locations and Walmart locations still have gas available at some pumps.

If you are not in a desperate need for gas, you can afford to wait until gas is restored to your local gas stations.
