Owner of Beloved Tejano Bar, Swa-Gito, Looking to Sell Property

SAN ANGELO, TX — The popular Tejano bar, Swa-Gito, is selling their location on Chadbourne Street.

According to the Facebook post on the Swa-Gito page, the bar is staying open “and is still committed to providing you the best entertainment experience possible” until a new owner is found.

The owner, Simon Cuellar, plans to keep the bar open and continue operating during business hours while the bar in on the market. Swa-Gito is located at 204 S. Chadbourne St., and part of the highly popular downtown San Angelo nightlife scene.

Many residents are heartbroken as the popular Tejano bar made the announcement to sell the bar. We talked to Cuellar. He said he is hopeful someone out there will step up and carry on the downtown tradition he and his family started.

The hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. They are closed on Tuesdays.
