Taco Bueno Open for Business on N. Bryant in San Angelo
SAN ANGELO,TX-- Taco Bueno on N. Bryant Blvd. opened its doors on Wednesday, marking the return of the popular Tex-Mex fast food chain after leaving in the early 2000s.
"I think most people are really excited to have [Taco Bueno] back," said Owner Kim Coon. "It has quite a big following."
Coon would go on to say that her and her staff did not go out and plaster their name everywhere with advertising as a way to create a sort of soft opening for the new restaurant.
"We knew it would be a big opening and I would prefer more of a soft opening just to get the employees trained," Coon said. "[Opening a new restaurant] is always a little rough the first several days. But we have a great staff."
Coon said their are over 40 people employed by Taco Bueno.
The major difference between Taco Bueno and other fast food chains, according to Coon, is freshly made food in house.
"Everything is made fresh here in the store," Coon said. "We have a very great bean recipe. We boil them over night or simmer them overnight. We have 100%, never-frozen ground beef. We make our own guacamole. We fry all of the products here in the store, from your taco shells to your chips. So, operationally, it's a lot more in depth than some of those other Tex-Mex fast food chains."
Coon said Taco Bueno plans to open another San Angelo location on Sherwood Way between Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express.
