HR Onboarding Solutions Wins Business Plan Competition & $25,000

 

SAN ANGELO, TX –  The City of San Angelo is happy to announce that HR Onboarding Solutions is the 1st place winner of San Angelo's Business Plan Competition. The City has awarded them with $25,000 in cash.

HR Onboarding Solutions is a local company that specializes in providing customer services that allow companies to use electronic forms with their customer’s software. This eliminates the need for manual data entry and paper forms. Brent Jameson, who owns and operates HR Onboarding Solutions, has over 20 years of experience in HR and technology. Jameson's business plan was selected as the best crafted in the competition.

Start-up retailer, Moontime, came in second place and was awarded $20,000 for their business plan. Moontime was designed to provide items such as teas, oils, ointments and items that help with aromatherapy. These items are designed to help women heal and replenish their bodies during their monthly cycle. The company provides monthly packages with their products to their customers.

Finally, in third place, the Longhorn Coffee company received $15,000 for their plan. The company started out as a hobby for Scott and Laurie Deckers, but is has since been in business for the past 10 years. The company now markets their product to wholesalers, retailers and restaurants, including local stores such as  Pinkie’s Liquor Stores, Concho Pearl Icehouse and Market Street.

The cash prizes were made possible by a monetary donation from the City of San Angelo. The City used the revenue obtained from the half-cent sales tax for economic development to total the full donation.  All of the competition's winners will be eligible to apply for The Business Factory incubator program.  The competition was coordinated by Angelo State University’s Small Business Development Center and business college, and The Business Factory. Contestants in the Business Plan Competition worked alongside the Angelo State University's Small Business Development Center and ASU College of Business students to draft the best business plans for the contest.
