Juan F. Garcia, age 79, a lifelong resident of San Angelo, passed away Sunday morning, March 25, at Senior Care Center in San Angelo.
He was born March 31, 1939 in San Angelo, son of the late Juan and Otilla Flores Garcia. He graduated from Central High School and later married Linda M. Munoz. She preceded him in death. He worked in the construction business building steel buildings for over 45 years and was proud of some of the buildings such as All American Chevrolet, Reese Albert building and part of Hirschfeld Steel. He had a passion for his work and considered it his greatest accomplishment. He was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his five sons, Mario Munoz of Georgetown, Danny Munoz of San Angelo, David Chappa of San Angelo, Rudy Garcia of San Angelo, and Esmundo Garcia of San Angelo, his daughter, Virginia Garcia of San Angelo, Two brothers, Richard Garcia and Jesus Garcia both of Houston, and two sisters, Otilla Garcia Cardosa and Alissa Garcia Cardosa both of San Angelo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zaralinda Munoz, Mario Munoz, Stephanie Munoz, David Munoz, David Chappa, Andrew Chappa, Alejandro, Anthony, Clarissa, John, Valarie, Victoria, and Veronica.Visitation for Mr. Garcia will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, March 27 with a rosary recited at 7 PM in the Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Balachendra Nagipgu officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
