Sunrise Easter Service on Willeke Hill
The annual traditional Easter Sunrise Service is conducted every year at the same location since 1959. This is the 60th Year.
The special location is called the Chapel on The Hill, or Willeke Hill, southwest of San Angelo on Highway 67, 1.1 mile southwest of the stop light by Walmart, on the left
Major Stan Carr of the Salvation Army will be giving the lesson and Mr. Gregory Smith of the Business Men’s Bible Class will be giving the Benediction and Bible reading this year.
Special music will be provided by “Proof of Grace” who in the secular world is known as the “Old Hat Band.” The Old Hat Band includes Dan Tucker, Dan Sherbon, Ace Allen Hough, Manuel Burciega and Tom Thornton. Tom will also be the Master of Ceremonies for the service.
The service will be broadcasted live on KSAN-TV Channel 3 and KKSA 1260 AM Radio.
Mr. Tom Thornton and Mr. Dana Tipton are co-chairman of the event. The Salvation Army Canteen will provide free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts for all.
