Family Day for the Dogs
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and Concho Valley PAWS will host Family Day For the Dogs on Saturday November 10th at the Art Museum located at One Love Street. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Celebrate Veteran’s Day Weekend a new way with your four legged friends. Bring your pup to the Museum for a fun day of art, snacks and activities all day!
Concho Valley PAWS will be starting the day off with a celebration blessing, and will be providing spay and neuter Vouchers (available at 12:00pm) and Vaccinations (starting at 10:00am) for the event. You can also meet shelter dogs that are looking for their forever homes during Rescues on the Runway at 12:30 pm.
Join us for FREE art activities for all ages in the Education Studio, and you can also Make art with your pets! All money raised will go to Concho Valley PAWS, activities are: Clay Paw Print $3 Paw Print Painting $5 Paint a Portrait of your Pet $30* Discount available for retired/active military *(limited classes, registration required email [email protected] by November 5th) Children and adults can explore the museum’s collection with a tour from a dog’s point of view at 1 pm with a certified therapy dog, who will provide “commentary” on the artwork! The Provisional Class of the Junior League of San Angelo (JLSA) will be onsite to creatively educate children about healthy eating through their Kids in the Kitchen program which was established by the Association of Junior Leagues International to help combat childhood obesity. JLSA volunteers will be helping attendees assemble a themed snack that can easily be made at home with the recipe and activity sheet that will also be distrusted at the event. Family Days are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month and are always FREE. We feature a different theme every month. Family Days are supported in part by the San Angelo Area Foundation, Texas Commission of the Arts and The Sterling-Turner Foundation.
