Avoiding Pitfalls in Employee Payroll
The ASU-SBDC (Angelo State University Small Business Development Center) is excited to host the training event “Avoiding Pitfalls in Employee Payroll ” on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at no cost .
At this training event, guest speaker Jeffrey Nabozny from the Department of Wage and Hour Division will give an introduction to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Discussion points will cover minimum wage requirements, overtime rules, child labor rules, and allowed exemptions to the Act.
The FLSA is a landmine of potential liability for employers especially if you are not aware of its details and components. Employers need to ensure compliance with the FLSA because if they don’t, it can be very expensive. We suggest taking this course to avoid any pitfalls that can make you and your business liable.
Please register in advance for this event so that we can provide adequate seating and handouts for everyone. To find out more about this program or to register please call the ASU-SBDC at (325) 942-2098 or register online at www.sbdc.angelo.edu
