HOLLYWOOD – Alec Baldwin's attorney Luke Nikas said in a statement Thursday, “This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins’ tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice. Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun – or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.”
Baldwin faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter for the “Rust” set film shooting death of Halyna Hutchins according to information released Thursday.
Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed will be “charged in the alternative” with the two counts of manslaughter, which means that a jury will not only decide if they are guilty but also under which definition of involuntary manslaughter.
Under New Mexico law, if found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, it is a fourth-degree felony, and they could face up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

PermalinkNeither did Dick Cheney, you know the republican vice president, when he shot his friend with a shotgun, which he knew was loaded, in the head.
Republicans said nothing about that.
