Alleged Drunk Driver Abandons Truck After Crash

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX – After an early morning crash left a pickup mangled on Highway 151, authorities are searching for the driver who fled the scene.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers found the Ford pickup on the wall that separated the main lanes from the service road.

Inside the vehicle, officers located multiple open alcohol containers.

No further details have been released at this time.

In Texas, if they don't have blood or breath they can't prove you were drunk, and you probably won't be charged with it, the fleeing the scene of an accident is a different thing altogether of course. I hate to say it this way, but this guy probably saved himself from a huge charge, and did what I would recommend anybody do in that situation. Of course you can refuse a breath or blood draw at the scene or hospital (if no one else was injured) but they will automatically take away your license for 6 months the first time and 2 years the second time (third is permanent), but for the 10's of thousands of dollars it would save you it would be worth it for sure, just get an Uber for those six months.
