SAN ANGELO, TX -- SAPD continues searching for a fugitive driver who led officers on a pursuit Sunday afternoon.
According to the police department, the pursuit began just before 3:30 p.m. when officers spotted a stolen 2007 Lincoln Town Car in east San Angelo. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the 800 block of East 19th Street on February 8, 2021.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver failed to comply and the pursuit began. The driver then led officers to the Bluff’s neighborhood in west San Angelo.
The driver abandoned the car in the 600 block of Avondale and fled the scene on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended one of the vehicle's occupants -- 21-year-old Arnulfo Arreola of San Angelo. Arreola was charged with Evading Arrest Detention.
SAPD continues searching for the driver who is described as a Hispanic male. The suspect has an average build and approximately 5’09”-5’10”. He was last seen wearing a purple jersey and dark-colored pants.
During a search of the stolen vehicle officers seized a large amount of property from the vehicle, including drug paraphernalia, a crossbow, and cash.
