Boater's Leg Severed Near Shore in Horrific Accident at Lake Nasworthy

SAN ANGELO, TX -- One person was reportedly seriously injured in a boating accident on Lake Nasworthy Wednesday evening.

According to reporters at the scene, a person was taken from the boat and loaded into an ambulance with a possibly severed leg.

According to Sgt. Barry Wike, the accident happened when they were pulling the boat into shore.  A male patient somehow got his leg up under the boat and into the propellor.

He must have slipped off back of boat or sumpin to get caught up in prop while it was engaged. Just out to have a good time, so easy for someone to get hurt or worse when boating. Sure hope he be ok and they can find his leg.

I used to live out there and know all the terrain. I stopped boating because of safety and the engine shouldn't have been on. also none of my family can swim.

I never told anyone but this looks close to the place where my famous goat rescue took place. I was walking along the shores and a little goat somehow had swam out there. So , I jumped in swam out there and grabbed him and paddled back to shore. When I sat him down , I did a little first aid until his mom arrived. These things can only happen in west texas.
