in SAPD Clocks Speeder Driving 103 MPH on Loop 306 During Traffic Enforcement Operation
The loop is designed and made for those kind of speeds... The danger comes into play with some 70+ year old moron gets on it and drives in the left inside lane at 45 miles per hour with a death grip on the wheel and panicked because they are going that fast and oblivious to the dangers they pose for even driving..........

in Lucas Oil and its Co-Defendants Respond to Lawsuit Against Them
Sad the officer lost his life but this does feel like a cash grab by the family too- if this goes to trial in any way you'd think they'll have to introduce the evidence of how fast the officer was driving-
"accident that took the life of Sgt. Kennedy was either entirely or partially caused by the negligence of Quigley and Kennedy"
that's how it reads to me at least, the officer dying is a tragedy but how fast was he going that day? if he was in an outside lane from the woman's perspective who hit him, and there was a long line of vehicles towing boats and such, its entirely reasonable to assume he should have been driving much slower to account for blind spots like that. I don't think its ever been established how fast he was driving, lights on or not. its a legitimate question that will come out in the trial i'm sure.
at the very least the parade route should have been adjusted- i've never understood why an officer wasn't already at the front of the line of vehicles to begin with.
No surprise there. I think everyone on the loop believes you're supposed to drive at least 80 mph and tailgate as close as possible and oh yeah, don't bother to use your turn signal when changing lanes or exiting the loop, I mean everyone else should know where you're going and what your are thinking, duh!
in Sheriff’s Deputy Finds 10 Pounds of Marijuana During Quail Valley Traffic Stop
he'll get probation. i only did 3 years federal time for 110 lbs. not that that isn't still a ridiculous amount of time for a drug less harmful and dangerous than alcohol though. by the way, is this guy a member of the taliban?
System will probably lock this guy up +30 years): But let the meth mules and human traffickers out on special double probation(: American judicial system needs a major douche(:
Boats are for the water. Whoever orchestrated this silly parade of boats on one of our busy time of day/ busiest streets should be the ones held accountable. This so called parade of boats should have been solely held at lake nastywater area and permitted people to come out there and look at the boats for free. This was just a bad decision that ended with fatal results. Silly rabbit boats are for the water.
ALL Law Enforcement Lives matter!
So glad to see these K-9's are being protected from those who wish to do them harm.
May God bless ALL who serve the rest of us.
in Some Business Owners Want to Increase the Federal Minimum Wage
I agree whole heartedly with all three of these statements. The first one is commom sense, second one is factual, and third would just be fun to see happen!

How can that one person tweet about girls playing with the gun and then say he was asleep? You are either a direct witness or it is hearsay.
Why have the Government force you to pay your employees more, if you think they should get more pay, then pay them more
I'd love to see the minimum wage raised to about $14.50 per hour, doubling what it is set at now. I think it would be hilarious to watch this entire low wage paying town stagger from the effects of a blow like that and have to fork out to and finally pay employees here what they are worth..... Maybe then, people in this town could afford to stay up with the tax rates imposed upon home owners in this town......
The first thing I noticed was the year range. Since when do we go back 67 years for a dollar comparison? You might as well go back to 1895 and not that the dollar has lost 95% of its value and as such would make the minimum wage minuscule. The second thing is that the writer assumes that the minimum wage is supposed to be a livable wage. It is not and was never meant to be a livable wage. If the United States hiked the minimum wage to a livable wage standard, almost all businesses would have to cut their workforce. Fewer people would be earning anything. In some areas of Texas, the minimum livable wage would be close to $20/hour. A company that hired three people at $7.25 an hour would have to fire two to keep their wage costs under control. That would impact their customer service and other capabilities.
Instead of hiking the minimum wage, maybe we should look at the costs of living and find out why they are astronomical compared to the 1970s.
If a business owner thinks employees should be paid more, why don't they just pay employees more? What am I missing here?
