SAN ANGELO, TX -- While AEP crews work to restore power to over 6,000 customers in San Angelo, Atmos crews were working on a gas leak near San Angelo Stadium on Johnson St. near Knickerbocker Rd.
According to Atmos Energy spokesperson Shelly Burnett, a contractor was drilling in the area and hit a four-inch gas line. Burnett says no customers lost gas and crews are working on repairs now. They should be completed Tuesday evening.
Atmos used San Angelo Firefighters to secure the scene. According to reports, the third party contractor was working for the San Angelo Independent School District.
No one was injured.
