Earthquakes Roll West Texas

 

MIDLAND, TX -- A series of small earthquakes have rocked West Texas in recent days.  

The Midland Reporter Telegram is reporting that the USGS says there have been six earthquakes in the last 10 days near Snyder and Pecos.  

The USGS reports a pair of  quakes occurred Tuesday and Wednesday 6.2 miles north of Snyder at 4:27 p.m a 2.5 magnitude Tuesday and then less than 12 hours later a 2.7 magnitude temblor hit 10.6 miles north of Snyder.  

Four earthquakes were recorded near Pecos from August 30 to Sunday.  

A 8.1 magnitude quake devastated southern Mexico overnight.
