A Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Captured in Houston

AUSTIN, TX- A Texas 10 most wanted sex offender, Charles Simpson, 48, has been apprehended. On Thursday, Nov. 3, Simpson was taken into custody in Houston, said Department of Public Safety officials.

Simpson was wanted for parole violation and failure to comply as a sex offender. The arrest was made possible by a tip given to law enforcement, and a reward of $3,000 will be paid.

DPS officials said, “In 1990, Simpson was convicted in Harris County of sexual assault; and in 1993, he was convicted of delivery of a controlled substance. Simpson received parole in 2006 and had been wanted since January 2016.”

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
