Wall's Braden and Carr Follow Wall Alum on Path to Angelo State

WALL, TX-- Casey Braden and Tymber Carr signed on Thursday to continue their careers at Angelo State University.

"They've put in a lot of time and expense," Wall Head Coach Houston Guy said. "I'm excited about these two guys staying local. I think it's going to be a tribute to Angelo State and they're going to add to their program as well.

Braden signed a National Letter of Intent after receiving a scholarship offer from the Rams to play tight end. Tymber Carr signed an athletic participation agreement to join ASU as a preferred walk-on in the fall.

"It's important to me because I wanted to stay close to my friends and family," Braden said. "I'll have some similar faces nearby and still have the same people watching me."

The big day meant a lot of emotions, but excitement rained down inside the Wall High School library.

"I just feel pretty excited," Carr said. "It's comforting to be close to home and play at [Angelo State] and fans from [Wall] who watched us can watch us at ASU, so it's going to be a pretty fun experience."

The duo is following in the footsteps of former Hawk and Ram standout receiver, and personal friend, Brett Rasberry.

"[Brett] was a great player," Carr reminisced. "Just to be able to follow in his footsteps is a pretty neat experience for me and Casey."

Angelo State was an easy sell for the duo that combined for over 2,600 rushing yards in 2017.

"The visit I went on, the coaching staff was real nice and real friendly," Carr said. "Then the campus was beautiful. The jersey combinations are sweet. I think my favorite was the all gold. So the choice I made to go there was what was best for me and my family."
