Lake View's Nickias Staying Home to Play at Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, TX-- After three years as the varsity quarterback for the Lake View Chiefs, Henry Nickias is moving on to the next chapter in his academic and athletic careers.

That move isn't actually a move at all as the Chief signed an athletic participation agreement to play football at Angelo State University.

"He gets the opportunity to do what he likes, play football," said Lake View Head Coach Hector Guevara. "I'm excited for him."

The new opportunity is an exciting one for the two-way player from Lake View.

"It's exciting," Nickias said. "I'm glad my classmates and teammates can be here to celebrate this with me. I didn't know where, but I definitely wanted to [play college football]. I definitely worked all four years to get here."

The visit to the hometown university is what sold Henry on ASU.

"I had a visit and they gave me a whole tour of the campus," said the Chief's signal caller. "I really liked the campus. I've been there multiple times and it's a beautiful campus."

Nickias' signing comes one day after the Rams added 23 scholarship players on National Signing Day.
