Central Basketball Coach Reinstated, Will Coach Tonight's Game

SAN ANGELO, TX-- The Central High School Head Basketball Coach, Dustin Faught, has been reinstated to his position.

SAISD Director of Communications Derrick Jackson confirmed this to San Angelo LIVE!.

“Coach Faught and the Central Bobcats basketball team are on the road tonight to face the Panthers of Waco Midway at 6 pm," Jackson said in a statement.

Jackson could not divulge any further information on the matter.

Coach Faught was placed on paid administrative leave on Monday after a letter was sent to the administration claiming Faught acted improperly at a youth league basketball tournament at Central's Freshman Campus. The tournament was not an SAISD event

People have claimed Faught was there to tell three players they were no longer going to play for Central after they skipped a high school tournament to play in this youth league tournament.

The complaint sent to SAISD said that Faught walked on to the court to tell players they were no longer playing for Central. The claim also said that Faught cussed at the youth coach.

On Thursday, the administration held a meeting with the youth coach from the tournament.

Faught did not coach the Bobcats on Tuesday in their game against Belton. He will coach their game against Waco Midway tonight in Waco.
