Howard College Livestock Judging Team Excels

 

BIG SPRING, TX – The Howard College livestock judging team is seeing hard work and dedication pay off in the form of a first place finish at the West Texas A&M Invitational meet held on November 5, 2016 in Canyon, Texas.

The students competed against other junior college livestock judging teams during their final competition of the semester before heading into the winter break. 

As a team, the students finished 1st in Sheep, Hogs, and Overall.

"I'm very proud of this group of students and the progress they have made as a team this fall,” said Lane Halfmann, Instructor and Livestock Judging Coach. “It’s not always easy to find time to put in the extra work but they have done it and now it is nice to see it paying off for them. I’m really looking forward to the spring and seeing what else they can accomplish.”

After the break, competitions will resume in January with the National Western meet in Denver, Colorado.
