Backyard Shed Goes Up in Smoke on a Cold, Wintery Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A work shed went up in smoke Tuesday morning, causing a rapid response by the San Angelo Fire Department in 22 degree F weather.

In the 500 block of W. 16th St., smoke was seen billowing from the backyard of a residence where the small shed. The shed did not appear to be attached to the home.

The fire department performed a direct attack on the shed and extinguished the fire in minutes, from our observation.

Update 11:36 a.m.

San Angelo Fire Marshal said no one was near the shed so no one was injured. All firefighters are safe and accounted for, he said. His office is investigating the cause. The time of the 9-1-1 call was approximately 10 a.m.
