Free STD and HIV Testing

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Monday, Oct. 30, The Tom Green County Health Department will conduct free STD and HIV testing.  Located at 2030 Pulliam St. STE 8, they will be open from 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Appointments are not necessary and walk-ins are welcome.

These tests are conducted regularly and assist the county, state and nation in understanding current trends of infection between age groups, race and other factors.  In 2013 San Angelo Live! reported on the drastic increase in STD infections.  You can read more about that here.  The article cites that in response to the quickly growing infection rate the Tom Green County Health Department Health Services Director Sandra Villareal stated that STD Testing clinics and medical workers were made aware of the growing problem and instructed to increase testing and treatment of high-risk individuals.
