Temps Forecast to Drop 47 Degrees Tonight Behind a Cold Front

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Forecasters with the National Weather Service in San Angelo expect daytime temperatures Columbus Day to reach 96 degrees then plummet behind a cold front tonight to the upper 40’s.

The cold front will remain north of San Angelo today with temperatures south of the front reaching the mid 90’s across the Concho Valley.  The wind will shift to the north tonight with the passage of the cold front and temps will drop to the upper 40’s.

The forecast focus tonight turns to wind speeds and rain chances. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible along and behind the front across some of our southern and southeastern counties roughly south of a line from Richland Springs to Sonora to southeastern Crockett County.

Gusty north winds are expected in the pressure rise field behind the front.
Overall wind speeds are expected to be mostly in the 15-25 mph range with higher gusts, but sustained winds should be on the higher end of that range for at least several hours across much of the northwestern two- thirds of our area.

There are no watches or warnings in effect for the Concho Valley at this time.
