Police ID Body Discovered Next to Houston Harte ExpresswayPress Release
SAN ANGELO, TX — At approximately 9 a.m. San Angelo police and the CSI unit responded to the discovery of a body alongside the Houston Harte Expy. just across from the McDonald's at the N. Bryant Blvd. overpass.
Police were unable to release a statement at this time and the cause of death is still unknown. Witnesses on scene claimed to have seen the man either jump, or fall from the overpass and then collapse.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation and will be updated as soon as more information is released.

San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez released the following statement Tuesday afternoon:
October 3, 2017 — At approximately 9:00 this morning, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the area of North Bryant Boulevard and West 6th Street for the report of an unconscious person.
Officers arrived and located Edward Vigil, 52, of San Angelo, unresponsive on the ground near the overpass. Vigil had no vital signs and apparently died as a result of injuries he sustained from falling off the overpass.
Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard responded to the location and formally pronounced Vigil deceased. Vigil’s next of kin was notified.Investigators with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are conducting a follow up investigation.
Although the circumstances around Vigil’s death have not been confirmed, an eyewitness told police they observed Vigil fall from the bridge. At this time, there are no signs of foul play.
