Firefighters Battle Several Grass Fires Saturday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Multiple grass fires throughout Saturday kept areas along Armstrong Street and State Highway 208 closed.  

Around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the San Angelo Fire Department and Quail Valley, Carlsbad, and Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to grass fires in the 3700 block of Armstrong and State Highway 208. 

The San Angelo Police Department officers have shut down the nearby roads for several hours now for the safety of the public. A Nixle alert was sent out shortly before 4 p.m. advising drivers and nearby residents to avoid the area.
