Flores Resigns Position with City Animal Shelter

SAN ANGELO, TX -- City of San Angelo Neighborhood Services Assistant Director James Flores has resigned.  Flores helped manage the City’s Animal Shelter and had come under fire recently for procedures at the shelter which allowed animals to be euthanized before their owners could pick them up among other issues.

According to an earlier San Angelo LIVE! report, Flores was promoted to his current position in March of 2015.  Prior to that, he was the Code Compliance Manager for the City of San Angelo from March of 2008.

City Public Information Officer Anthony Wilson Confirmed Flores has resigned and provided a copy of the resignation letter to San Angelo LIVE!. “James Flores has resigned.”  said Wilson.

In that letter, Flores said he is resigning for personal reasons effective July 12.
