Pecos the Cat: Marketing Ploy or Missing Pet?
SAN ANGELO, TX — From billboards in San Angelo to banners and signs in Christoval, Pecos the Cat is getting lots of attention. However, some are wondering if the billboards advertising a missing “Pecos the Cat” are actually a marketing gimmick foreshadowing the opening of a possible new business.
Pecos the Cat has been the topic of many business lunch meetings. “Is it really a missing cat?” people are asking.
Pecos is real and Pecos is missing, and a loving family is wanting him home safe. He’s an orange cat with dark stripes and went missing on April 4. Pecos belongs to Katie and her husband. They live on Toe Nail Trail in Christoval. Katie asked that LIVE! not use her last name for personal safety reasons.
Katie says she and her family receive many calls, but so far none of the tips have led to finding Pecos, “Oh my gosh we’ve seen lots of orange cats!” Katie said.
If you know the whereabouts of Pecos, Katie is promising a $500 reward for the four-year-old feline. “We think he got out of his carrier either at the Christoval Post Office or Cooper’s BBQ.” Katie said.
If anyone sees an orange striped cat in Christoval, Katie asks that people call her at 325-450-1017.
“Please call us if you see an orange cat with dark stripes," Katie pleaded, ”We’ll come see if it’s Pecos.”
