AT&T 911 Access Restored After Statewide Outage

SAN ANGELO, TX – At approximately 8:40 p.m., the San Angelo Police department issued a Nixle Alert for AT&T customers who are currently unable to access 911 on their cell phones. This appears to be happening in different areas of the country, and it is unknown when the issue will be resolved.

In the meantime, San Angelo residents who are affected by this outage are encouraged to contact dispatch directly in case of an emergency.

For SAPD, please contact 325-657-4315; for the Tom Green Sherriff’s Office, contact 325-655-8111. Anyone needing medical attention can contact either of these numbers and dispatch will be able to send EMT services to that location.

AT&T officials posted on their Twitter feed that they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible.

Update March 9, 2017 @ 8:38 a.m.

According to the City of San Angelo and the Tom Green County Emergency Management Department, 911 service has been restored to AT&T cellular customers following the statewide outage last night.
