New Candidate Announced For District 6 City Council Seat

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Rebekah Coffman has officially filed her candidacy for City Council’s District 6 seat in the May 6 election.

Coffman is the second candidate to file for the District 6 seat; Steve Hampton filed for the District 6 seat in January. Currently, District 2 and 4, as well as the Mayor’s post are open.

Below are the current San Angelo residents running for the open seats;

  • Mayor: Tony Villarreal, Brenda Gunter, Charlotte Farmer
  • District 2: Tom Thompson
  • District 4: Lucy Gonzalez
  • District 6: Steve Hampton

For anyone interested in running for a City Council seat, the filing period is open through Friday, February 17. Interested candidates can file the necessary paperwork in the City Clerk’s office in Room 210 on the second floor of City Hall, located at 72 W. College Avenue. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters must be registered to vote by April 7 to be eligible to vote in the May 6 election. Beauregard Ave. All Tom Green County libraries can give further information.
