This non-profit conducts about 375 work place campaigns in businesses and companies throughout the Concho Valley each year. The campaigns for these businesses began in August and will end Dec. 31, 2016.

To this date, $357,416 has been raised. Sidney Walker, the UWCV’s 2016 Campaign Chair said, “We’re on [track] for a great year for us, but we’ve still got a lot more work to do.”

She added, “Any amount helps us out with the United Way. We have so many programs and agencies that need our attention and our help, and what better way that it stays in our community as well.”

In the Concho Valley, there are about 19 agencies that UWCV helps. Walker said, “The funds that are raised stay right here in our own backyard. That’s the biggest thing. You know I care about our community, so for it to stay in San Angelo means a whole lot more.”
