Brentwood Park To Be Redesigned

San Angelo, TX – The first of three meetings to discuss the upcoming renovations of Brentwood Park will be held at Austin Elementary School cafeteria on October 24th at 5:45 p.m. The prospective plans include a new playground, shade structure, walkways and trees.

The remodeling of the park will begin next spring and is expected to take nearly a year to complete. The project will be funded using in-house City labor with a budget of approximately $275,000 in half cent sales tax funds.

At the meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Carl White and Construction Manager David Knapp will be discussing the design options that have been presented by the public. Also in attendance will be Steve Van Hoozer, the San Angelo schools’ director of Bond Planning & Construction, Parks Senior Manager Roger Havlak and Parks Manager Mike Hitchcock.

The next meetings will take place in early December and mid-January for community members to see the progress in the design. The public is encouraged to attend the meetings and provide ideas for the project.
