SAPD to Host Online Safety Workshop for Teens

SAPD’s Tracy Gonzalez will be hosting an online safety workshop on Saturday, June 25, at the San Angelo Police Department.

The workshop will feature topics such as digital citizenship and ways to avoid the dangers of sexting, online solicitation and predators. All the information presented has been provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The workshop will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will feature a video presentation followed by a Q & A session; snacks will be provided. The workshop is free to the public.

Additional workshops for younger children may be available throughout the summer. Church groups and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to request the workshop for private presentations.

“My heart is in giving them [kids] the tools to safely navigate a digital world and be safe and smart about it,” Gonzalez said.
