TxDOT Makes Changes to San Angelo Speed Limits

 

The Texas Department of Transportation will be making changes to the speed limits on US 277, said a press release Monday. The item went before the San Angelo City Council and was unanimously approved during the November meeting. The speed reduction was also approved by TxDOT's Transportation Commission at its monthly meeting on Nov. 19.

According to the press release, new speed limit signs will be installed and will be enforceable by law on Thursday Dec. 3:

From US 87 to San Angelo city limits, the current 60 mph speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph for about half a mile.

From San Angelo city limits to approximately one mile south of the San Angelo city limits (south of Templin Road), current 65 mph will be reduced to 55 mph for about a mile.

From approximately one mile south of the San Angelo city limits (south of Templin Road) to one mile south of city limits (south of Templin Road) current 75 mph speed will reduce to 60 mph.

The speed limit will remain at 75 mph starting about a mile from the city limit (south of Templin Road) to just north of Christoval Rd.
