City of Colorado Springs authorities said that the cause of death for George "Robby" Loving, San Angelo's Bentwood Country Club’s head golf professional, was drowning.
The spokeswoman for the City of Colorado Springs said according to witnesses, Loving and others that were in attendance at a wedding when they decided to swim across the lake at the Broadmoor Hotel for fun. Everyone made it back from across the lake but Loving.
Colorado Springs police and fire department received a call around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, reporting that a man that was seen swimming in the lake had disappeared. Rescue personnel searched the lake feverishly, until 5 a.m. that morning when Loving’s body was discovered.
Funeral services are pending.
